Job Description:

Microchip has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Equipment Engineer. The right candidate will repair, upgrade, maintain test and semiconductor-related manufacturing equipment. This candidate will also select, order, and expedite equipment and parts that are most appropriate and cost-effective for the maintenance of production equipment. In addition, the candidate will be required tostudy equipment performance and reliability and help establishprograms and solutions for decreasing down-time for equipment problems that affect the manufacturing process.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • AEET, or equivalent 2-year degree
  • Experience in manufacturing or test equipment repair
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
  • Strong working knowledge of electronics a must as well as good mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to troubleshoot to the component level.
  • Experience in the use of DC test equipment a must.
  • Ability to interface between production and other engineering personnel to solve issues related to manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability tostudy equipment performance and reliability and help establish programs and solutions for decreasing down-time for equipment problems that affect the manufacturing process.
  • Ability to use MS Office
  • Must exhibit proficiency interfacing with vendors and equipment manufacturers
