In this role, you have the opportunity to

Leads cross-functional teams focused on processing and delivery of products for internal & external customers. Develop product introduction plans and schedules with defined deliverables in order to meet overall NPI requirements.  Monitors programs/projects from initiation through delivery and interfacing with internal customers or department personnel. Organizes project activities and interdepartmental meetings; ensures communication facilitates completion of the programs/projects on schedule and within budget constraints. May assign and monitor work of technical personnel providing support and interpretation of instructions/objectives.

 

You are responsible for

  • Participates on Mercury’s Program teams representing all of Operation’s functions
  • Ensures that the proper skills and talents are applied to new product teams to ensure the delivery of products and processes in the fastest, least cost and highest quality possible
  • Extremely adaptable to changing product and schedule needs
  • Coordinates the delivery of design support services to allow for the quickest “turn” possible for material procurement, product assembly and product testing
  • Works closely with the Program Team leader to ensure that the right product drive is loaded for prototypes, pre-production,  and initial production
  • Leads the effort to structure product BOMs such that they best fit Mercury’s supply chain and delivery models
  • Creates the roll up of new product standard costs and then drives the cost down to the desired cost goal.  Initiates reviews of escalation when targets are not being as early in the design process as possible
  • Ensures that all DFx is included in the product design
  • Introduction schedule encompassing prototypes through production introduction.
  • Implementation of assembly and test processes inside of Mercury and in the supply chain.
  • Readiness reviews and checklists in support of customer shipments (Statement of Work and/or Steady-State Production)
  • Senior Management presentations identifying status and risk/mitigation plans
  • Drive to assure process across organization to assure success
  • Ensure collaboration across entire organization
  • Ensure upward visibility to Product Life Cycle Gate issues and non-conformances are highlighted and corrected

 

You are a part of

This position will provide Operational leadership to drive, and proactively track NPI programs in a complex design environment. Tangible results will be measured by meeting the program schedule, product cost target, and quality target. This position will continually improve the cross-functional team planning, coordination, and new product introduction processes to deliver highly complex products with rapid time-to-market attributes. The role demands excellent teamwork with the various partner organizations including Program Management, Engineering (HW, SW), Product Management, Planning, Purchasing, Commodities Management, Suppliers, Process Engineering, Test Engineering, Quality Engineering, etc…

 

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Ability to create and maintain detailed task schedules using the appropriate tool (MS Project, Excel, and Sharepoint).
  • Ability to manage cross functional teams in high visibility/high speed settings
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to summarize complex issues and coordinate teams to deliver solutions for those issues
  • Expert level with MS Office Suite including knowledge of MS Project
  • High level of execution/performance in a high stress, rapidly changing environment
  • Strong business sense
  • Highly customer focused
  • Ability to influence

Purpose: This position is for a recognized subject matter expert in the NPI Engineering sub-family.

Responsibility Statement: Communicate New Product introduction status throughout Manufacturing and other disciplines. Coordinate New Product development tasks and help determine extended team resource allocations with functional Manufacturing managers. Ensure all new products have been reviewed and identified with the proper ITAR classification. Ensure the flow of material to support New Product schedules in a cost effective manner. Schedule and manage New Product prototype and pre-production manufacturing. This will include DFT, DFM, costs, schedules and overall contract manufacturing readiness. Will be the project leader for assigned programs to ensure all RTM criteria is met or exceeded.

Additional Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Education:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • 8-10 years’ experience in Manufacturing/Operations
  • Hardware background/knowledge (Printed Circuit Boards, Chassis, and associated Chassis Hardware – Metal, Cables, etc..)
