Overview

The Market Access capability is of critical importance to Alnylam, and the company aims to be an innovator in this area. Our goal is for Market Access to be a capability that both develops and executes strategy, and one that is fully integrated across all functions within the organization. Additionally, the Market Access team executes pricing and access strategies, in coordination with the General Managers of each market. As such, the Market Access team has both internally and externally facing responsibilities.

The International Market Access team works across four main domain areas: pricing, health economics, health policy shaping, and local market access execution. The team also works closely with other company expertise areas (e.g. Medical Affairs) and the Global and US Access team. The candidate should bring a high-level of experience in all these domains and must show a strong commitment and potential to develop. This is a rare and unique opportunity to have a broad market access role that shapes country and regional strategy and involves 'hands-on' direct payer interactions in multiple countries. The working environment will be fast-paced, independent, results-oriented, practical, and dynamic, all in keeping with the nature of an emerging pre-commercial biotechnology company that has global ambitions.

This role belongs to France & BeNeLux (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxemburg) cluster and is reporting to Market Access cluster lead. Main focus for this role is on BeNeLux for operational part of the role, but contribution to strategic international Market Access projects are expected.

Key Responsibilities

* In collaboration with Country Manager and Market Access cluster lead, lead and own the local pricing and reimbursement procedures in BeNeLux;

* Optimize pricing and access strategies for BeNeLux, while ensuring they are aligned with regional and overall enterprise priorities;

* Directly engage with external BeNeLux authorities and internal and external stakeholders as needed;

* Support the execution of market access goals, including pricing targets, revenue targets, access timelines, and overall launch success for BeNeLux and International region;

* Based on insights, develop pricing & access strategy incorporating additional evidence needs, value proposition beyond the drug, managed entry schemes and other agreements to ensure mutual value;

* Contribute to International Market Access strategy and projects (e.g. International Reference Pricing, forecasting, evidence generation, strategic planning etc.).

Qualifications

* Master, MBA or PhD in science and/or economics preferred;

* Fluency in both written and oral Dutch and English is essential, fluency in French is a plus;

* Possess deep country level understanding of payer needs, decision-making approaches, strategies, and country reimbursement stakeholders and influence map within BeNeLux;

* Hands-on experience with pricing and reimbursement procedures in BeNeLux, specifically involving product launch of specialty or rare disease drugs;

* Hands-on experience with country pricing negotiations; demonstrated knowledge of pricing trends, tactics, and International payer dynamics;

* Demonstrated knowledge in the core market access domains (pricing, HEOR, local market execution);

* Ability to grasp highly technical concepts and to work within a deeply scientific environment;

* Exceptional learning agility, demonstrated by advancement in prior roles/companies;

* Strong strategic, tactical and operational skills and ability and willingness to switch between strategic and operational level of working;

* First-rate emotional intelligence; ability to manage ambiguity, frequent changes and senior level engagements; ability to confidently seek out help when needed;

* Experience and proven success working with cross-functional teams across geographies.
