Quality Engineer, Senior

The Quality Engineer - Senior will be responsible for direct tactical support of the Hi - Reliability business supporting the Diode and MMIC Business Units. The scope will be limited to silicon diodes and components initially (standard commercial and space level qualified) and related products. Additional support of the site quality system and continuous improvement initiatives will also be required.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead BU review from a Quality perspective for existing and new space level products, qualifications, and related items.
  • From a Quality perspective, lead the review in collaboration with Operations and BU colleagues in review and tactical execution of high reliability, MIL/Aerospace requirements in manufacturing, testing and inspections in compliance with customer and internal requirements.
  • Provide guidance to Operations, BU and Quality colleagues on management and tactical support for any related ADBU Quality issues.
  • Interface with suppliers and subcontractors to assure compliance to technical requirements and specifications.
  • Knowledge of MIL-PRF-19500/38534/38535, MIL-STD-883/750/202, NASA-EEE-002, misc. JEDEC standards, and IPC-600 and 610 and other associated standards for Space and High Reliability applications and requirements.
  • Support First Article Inspections to AS9102 requirements.
  • Be capable of generating and presenting to world-wide customers problems and actions taken through an 8D framework and with supporting detail.
  • Be a practitioner in control plans and FMEAs with the ability to guide institutional learning on these methods. Become a proactive "change agent" within the Quality group.
  • Oversee day to day quality functions as they pertain to on floor operations in WIP.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S./M.S. in Electrical Engineering or related technical field (or equivalent) with 5 years of component and/or semiconductor experience, specifically in support of customers in the high reliability Military/Aerospace oriented businesses.
  • Understanding of semiconductor devices and components theory and manufacturing
  • Working knowledge of Military/Aerospace and related requirements.
  • Ability to create, review and critique up to high reliability aerospace level screening test plans and manufacturing steps.
  • Working knowledge of statistical sampling plans used for inspection or test of components along with the ability to perform statistical data analysis on large data sets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Well-practiced organization and planning skills
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • MS Office experience (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Project)
  • Statistical software experience (JMP, Minitab, etc.) a plus
  • Ability to work with customer inspectors, etc. in support of source inspections, customer requirements, etc.
  • Experience with Agile and/or SAP a plus.
  • Due to ITAR regulations, the candidate must be a US Citizen
  • Position resides in Lowell, Mass. Business travel <10%.
