  • Ability to develop, promote, implement music therapy assessment and treatment interventions for pediatric clients and their families. Facilitates music therapy groups and one-on-one interventions. Builds rapport and trust as part of clients' and families' therapeutic support system.

  • Provides direct music therapy intervention services to children 0 - 3 and their families in natural settings, group or center-base.

  • Carries out service coordination functions when appropriate as defined by the Early Intervention

  • Standards.

  • Conducts evaluations, consults and other assessments.

  • Develops and implements Individual Family Service Plans.

  • Assists in transition planning prior to discharge from the program.

  • Referrals to outside agencies as needed.

  • Maintains client records and other administrative duties according to DPH and Lipton Early Intervention policies.

  • Attends in-service education and professional meetings as required.

  • Ability to work independently and contribute to the overall success of the team.

  • Flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills, verbal, written and communication skills.

  • Early Intervention services are provided both in-person and/or by Telehealth.

  • Develop, promote, implement music therapy assessment and treatment interventions for pediatric clients and families

  • Demonstrates knowledge of typical and atypical infant/toddler development

  • Demonstrate the ability to support positively clients and families

  • Develops functional intervention techniques for infants and toddlers with atypical development Knowledge of a wide variety of creative and expressive activities that are age and developmentally appropriate

  • Knowledge of individual and group behavior and dynamics and methods to encourage communication Skills in adjusting actions appropriately in relation to clients' reactions

  • Skills in critical thinking and in identifying alternative solutions for therapeutic sessions as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science or higher - Music Therapy from an accredited program

  • MT-BC license (Board Certified)

  • Minimum 1 years of experience in community-based services for young children and their families preferred

  • CPR, First Aid certification or take a course within six months on the job

  • Current NPI or apply for NPI (National Provider Identifier number)

  • Current valid US-issued drivers license and ability to provide a registered and insured automobile for work related purposes, including travel between work sites.

  • Must be able to pass a CORI background check
