The Oral Surgery Assistant is responsible for:
- Provides technical assistance and support for Dentists/Surgeons during Plastic & Oral Surgery examinations and procedures.
- Under regular supervision and following established procedures and instructions, provides basic direct care to patients. Prepares patients and instruments and treatment materials for procedures.
- Obtains, measures, and records vital signs.
- Obtains radiographic images and dental impressions.
- Assists clinician during examinations including passing instruments and materials, placing topical gel and/or anesthetic cream; may remove sutures.
- After procedure, provides patients/parents with general information and instruction.
- Cleans and sterilizes room and equipment.
