This position will support our Boston and Waltham Clinics. Schedule: (4) 10-hour shifts, Monday-Friday.

The Oral Surgery Assistant is responsible for:

  • Provides technical assistance and support for Dentists/Surgeons during Plastic & Oral Surgery examinations and procedures.
  • Under regular supervision and following established procedures and instructions, provides basic direct care to patients. Prepares patients and instruments and treatment materials for procedures.
  • Obtains, measures, and records vital signs.
  • Obtains radiographic images and dental impressions.
  • Assists clinician during examinations including passing instruments and materials, placing topical gel and/or anesthetic cream; may remove sutures.
  • After procedure, provides patients/parents with general information and instruction.
  • Cleans and sterilizes room and equipment.

The Oral Surgery Assistant must have:

  • Current Radiology Certification through the Massachusetts Dental Society.
  • Basic CPR Certification.
  • Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) by the Dental Assistant National Board (DANB) required.
  • Current DAANCE certification (Dental Anesthesia Assistant by the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and by the Massachusetts Dental Society as a Dental Assistant.
  • HS diploma/GED and Basic Tech training
  • 3 months experience
