Position Summary:

  • Hands-on quality assurance, inspection, problem solving, root cause corrective actions of manufactured components.
  • Internal & external audit findings prevention and closure
  • Site Quality assurance initiative support & Starpoint facilitation

Essential Functions:

  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate quality functions, such as, authorize to returns, customer rework, nonconformance material reports, and sorting activities.
  • Participates in failure analysis and corrective action investigations. Develops and coordinates corrective action procedures and plans.
  • Perform incoming and First article materials using engineers drawing/customer drawing spec.
  • Reviews and interprets product/process drawings, specifications, and other applicable work instructions to determine pass/fail requirements for manufactured parts.
  • Lead internal and external quality audits for the site as needed.
  • Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision, reliability and accuracy of products and processes.
  • Facilitate preventative quality assurance Kaizen problem solving, Starpoint & natural teams in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support the Quality Engineer & Manager with customer communication & resolution as needed.
  • Support Parker's Zero-Defect Strategy by becoming a subject matter expert in the defect prevention tools utilized (e.g., PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, etc.)
  • Oversee and be accountable to key business metrics such as Customer Returns, RPPM, Cost of Poor Quality, and Scrap for the manufacturing sites.
  • Assist with internal division site quality improvement initiatives, as required

Qualifications:

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 4-year technical degree preferred
  • 5+ years' experience in a quality or manufacturing related background a plus
  • Applied working knowledge of FAI, PPAP, 8D a plus
  • Ability to read blueprint/drawings/specifications preferred
  • Experience using measurement devices (Calipers, micrometers, drop gauges, etc.)
  • Applied working knowledge of Lean manufacturing, ISO Quality and DFSS principles- Green Belt Certification a plus.
  • Must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident

Skills:

  • Knowledge of computers, including Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams), Digital collaboration tools (Zoom)
  • Complete understanding of manufacturing environment, tools and equipment to facilitate production requirements
  • Basic product knowledge
  • Strong organizational skills
