Position Summary:

Directs and coordinates activities of production department(s) in processing materials or manufacturing products. Responsible for the effective use of labor in the facility. Interfaces with various departments to ensure timely movement of product for customers. Develops and initiates policies and procedures to maximize productivity and minimize operating costs.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring all safety and health standards are met to keep the organization incident-free.
  • Drive outinefficiencies, eliminate waste, increase quality, boost productivity.
  • Expedite operations that delay schedules and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Work closely with HR on hiring and employee relations.
  • Motivate, support, and provide guidance to production staff.
  • Communicate regularly with upper-level management regarding problems or issues impacting production.
  • Evaluating machine resources to ensure continued production and minimal downtime.
  • Establish a balance between increased productivity and reduced costs of manufacturing operations.
  • Setting productivity goals for each manufacturing team.
  • Developing workflow policies and procedures that improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality.
  • Reviews production and operating reports to resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business management or similar preferred.
  • 5+ years of management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of various lean manufacturing and continuous improvement processes.
  • Ability to drive production results.
  • Ability to develop, train, and manage direct reports.
  • Assist with enforcing of plant practices such as the safety program.
  • Manage plant production workflow.
  • Strong prioritizing, interpersonal, problem solving, project management, and planning skills.
  • Ability to work well within a team and cross functionally.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
