Position Summary:
Inventories, stores, and distributes Die Details, Punches, Extrude pins, cutting tools, support tooling for Vasini, EMG, national machines, and other tooling accessories. Maintains tool functionality, calibration specifications, and safe conditions by performing frequent inspections of tools and holders for wear, defects, or damage. Keeps an inventory of tools by tracking the distribution of tools and users in a database or other system. Assist with ordering new tools, and all related accessories and the repair tools as needed. Has training and experience in a Manufacturing environment with the familiarity of machinery and tools.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
*Receives, stores, and issues hand tools, machine tools, materials, and equipment in the industrial establishment: Issues tools and equipment to workers and maintains records of tools and equipment issued and returned, manually or using a computer.
*Support all production departments by maintaining adequate levels of tooling and masters, and ensure tooling is delivered to production.
*Locates lost or misplaced tools and equipment.
*Maintain a Tool Inventory Management System (TIMS).
*Prepares periodic inventory or maintains perpetual inventory of tools, holders, and tooling accessories, manually or using a computer.
*Investigate alternate sources of tooling repair to maintain a high standard of quality repair work at the lowest possible cost.
*Receives, unpacks, and stores incoming tools, holders, tooling accessories, and requisitions stock to replenish inventory.
*Inspects and measures tools and equipment for defects and wear, visually or using a micrometer, and reports damage or wear to supervisors.
*Repairs, services, and lubricates tools using hand tools.
*May deliver tools, holders, and tooling accessories to workers, manually or using a hand truck.
*Perform procurement activities to ensure the organization's current and anticipated demand for products and materials (stock and non-stock) are met and in alignment with tooling vendors for purchasing strategies.
*Review and approve assigned inventory forecasts produced by the Guhring TM Vending systems.
*Review and approve daily replenishment recommendations produced by the Guhring TM Vending systems.
*Participate in 5S Workplace organizational activities and maintain the area in good working order through sustainment activities, including requests for maintenance when needed.
Education and/or Experience:
*High school diploma or its equivalent preferred
*2-4 years' of experience as a Tool Crib Attendant, or warehouse receiving experience at a manufacturing facility
*Experience working with CNC tooling is a plus but not required.
*Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
*Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area.
