POSITION SUMMARY:

As the Events Manager you will play a pivotal role in creating and executing events and initiatives aimed at fostering a positive and inclusive workplace environment. You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders to design, implement, and evaluate events that align with our employee experience goals and enhance employee engagement and inclusion. Events and programs include Recognition Days/Months (i.e. Black History Month, Employee Appreciation Day), PRIDE, Annual Red Sox Opening Day Celebration, Leadership Forums, Orientation and Training events, and all other recognition activities as directed by the Executive Director of Organizational, Development, and Effectiveness. Operations responsibilities include volunteer recruitment, data management, communications development, fiscal administration. Acting as project manager for the event while developing and maintaining positive working relationships with internal and external contacts at all levels. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

Employee Activities and Events

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute a variety of events, including but not limited to Recognition Days/Months (i.e. Black History Month, Employee Appreciation Day), PRIDE, Annual Red Sox Opening Day Celebration, Leadership Forums, Orientation and Training program events (i.e. graduation, new hire meet & greets).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, Marketing and Communications, Community Engagement, Catering, and other relevant departments, to ensure alignment of event objectives with organizational goals.
  • Partner with external vendors, speakers, and community organizations to enhance the quality and impact of events.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for event logistics, including venue selection, catering, audiovisual equipment, and budget management.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to solicit feedback, assess needs, and continuously improve event offerings.
  • Monitor and evaluate the success of events through feedback mechanisms, surveys, and data analysis, and utilize insights to inform future event planning and strategy.
  • Ensure that all events adhere to DEI principles and promote a culture of inclusivity and belonging.
  • Identifies new opportunities for employee recognition events.
  • Leads outreach plans for event promotion and visibility
  • May be asked to assist/advise other departments with an event or recognition program.
  • Negotiates pricing for gifts, materials and services for events.
  • Serve as organizational centralized events and recognition liaison to work on employee recognition.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

None

EXPERIENCE:

Proven experience (5 years) in event planning or relevant experiences. Prefer a focus on employee engagement, teambuilding, DEI, or leadership type events.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Skill set and proven track record within events management, data management, and program development is a must
  • Must be detail oriented and be able to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Team player, collaborative, collegial
  • Financial planning and business plan development skills
  • Must be able to work independently at various points in planning process
  • Understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles and their application in the workplace.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated creativity and innovation in developing engaging and impactful event concepts.
  • Proficiency in event planning software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting preferred.
  • Excited and interested in engaging with employees while doing outreach on campus
