Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of high-volume bar or food service experience in a comparable operation.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining daily standards
  • Skill, efficiency and coordination in serving duties such as food and beverage delivery, table clearing, cleaning and trash handling
  • Well-groomed and appealingly dressed in proper FOH attire. Excellent personal hygiene
  • Excellent customer service skills.

License Requirements:

Must be able to obtain license by R.I. Department of Business Regulation

Essential Job Functions:

  • Promptly informs immediate supervisor of all matters of significance. Takes corrective action as necessary. Complies with direction of supervisor and suggests viable courses of action.
  • Contributes to a professional and harmonious workplace that maximizes employee morale, productivity and effectiveness.
  • Responds positively and resourcefully to all customer requests and special instructions so as to insure memorable guest experiences.
  • Presents a positive image at all times. Interacts with vendors and the public so as to increase the appreciation of the steakhouse and the brand in the marketplace.
  • Attends daily shift meetings and other staff meetings to receive information and direction.
  • Greets and establishes rapport with guests. Interacts with staff and guests in a friendly manner so as to create loyalty. Listens to their concerns so as to provide effective resolution.
  • Assists Servers in the serving of food and drink to customers following the steakhouse steps of service and adheres to service times.
  • Promptly clears all unused or used table wear, trash, etc. from assigned tables.
  • Ensures a safe working environment through proper sanitation and continual cleaning of the restaurant. Any staff or guest injuries are promptly reported. Proper security procedures are fully enforced.
  • Minimizes waste by properly utilizing all products. Properly handles and disposes of all trash.
  • Follows daily checklists and side work. Sets up, stocks and breaks down service and expo stations following procedures. Completes all assigned cleaning duties. Complies with direction and instructions from managers and supervisors and servers.
  • Uses all knives and tools in a safe and professional manner. Operates and cleans all equipment safely and correctly. Handles all glassware, dishes and small wares carefully.
  • Ensures that all dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment are properly pre-soaked, cleaned and sanitized. Follows all posted English or Spanish language procedures for using chemicals, dish machine and three-compartment sink.
  • Safely stores all chemicals, dishes, utensils, and equipment in their designated areas. Handles all food and equipment in a safe and sanitary manner.
  • Properly handles and disposes of all trash. Sweeps and mops floors in a safe manner.
  • Ensures responsible service of alcohol by following all legal requirements including carding and monitoring consumption.

Physical/Mental Requirements:

  • Must be able to carry 30+ pounds
  • Carry large, heavy trays
  • On feet 10+ hour shifts
