The opportunity:

This is a senior level print and magazine design and art director role to work in parallel with the design director of the magazine and executive creative director of HBP.

This Art Director, Magazine, is responsible for leading the HBR print magazine design process from start to finish through each issue's entire two-month schedule. Additionally, they will oversee, guide, and approve the work on any of the four annual HBR Special Issues that arise during their time here. This is a 3-6 month contract position.

What you'll do

HBR Magazine

* Magazine feature well creative research, assignments, design, and final execution.

* Magazine issue oversight

* Magazine team leadership

* This person will manage all communication between editors, designers, production teams and stakeholders, attend meetings, guide decisions, and support the magazine designer and photo editor in their day to day work.

HBR Digital

*Oversee and guide the migration of print to digital

*Oversee the assignment and research of daily images for HBR.org

*Support the HBR digital editorial team with any and all new content and storytelling requirements

What you'll bring

  • 5-7 years working in a multimedia media company content environment.

  • High level of competency working in the Adobe Creative Suite, with a focus on Illustrator and Photoshop

  • Working knowledge of web and native platform technical requirements

  • Knowledge of HTML functionality, and experience working in WordPress will be considered in the decision to hire

$50-$75 per hour (USD)

Above is the annualized pay range for this position. In addition, this position includes the opportunity to earn our annual Performance Based Variable Pay Program. Actual salary will be set based upon a range of factors, including external benchmark market data, individual knowledge, skills, experience, location and internal equity.
